My name is Aneel Dadani. I’m a Senior Manager of the Security Technical Account Management team at Salt Security, where we help companies defend against the kinds of threats that keep security teams up at night.

I’m passionate about technology, cybersecurity, and the constant challenge of keeping up with a field that never stops moving. Lately that means digging into how AI — and specifically agentic AI — is changing the way security teams work. I find that exciting, not scary.

What this blog is

This is a space for tinkerers. I write about things I’m exploring, talks I’m giving, and ideas worth sharing — with the hope that it’s useful to others who are figuring things out alongside me. No polished thought leadership, just honest notes from someone who learns by doing.

If you’re the kind of person who likes to break things, understand how they work, and build something better — you’re in the right place.

My story

I didn’t start in tech. My first job was flipping burgers at McDonald’s at 14, and I spent years selling shoes, clothes, and helping my family run their jewelry business before I ever touched a server. During college I landed IT internships at a few Fortune 500 companies, and something clicked. After graduating I became an Information Security Administrator and never looked back. I’ve been in cybersecurity ever since, always looking for ways to break things and make them better.

Talks

I occasionally present on topics at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity. You can find posts about those talks here on the blog as I give them.
